Atom Rep team wins Regional Silverstick Title!!
Congratulations to the South Huron Atom Rep team on capturing the Regional Silver Stick title in Wingham. We are very proud of all of you!!
The South Huron Atom Rep team beat Ayr 5 - 2, tied Kincardine 2 -2. won against Walkerton 7 - 0 and Listowel 8 - 2. The Championship game was against Twin Centre. In this game, Nolan Regier opened up the scoreboard with help from Hannah Tait and Colin Regier. Twin Centre fought back popping in the next two goals and taking a lead. Colin Regier shot from the point and with a rebound shot from Joel DenOtter the momentum came back as the Sabres tied the game at 2 - 2 allowing this championship game to head into overtime. With many shots in the first minute of overtime, Jacob Ryan found the back of the net to secure the Championship. Fantastic goaltending throughout the entire tournament was displayed by Luke Andrews. This team is known for their passing and great forechecking from forwards Cam Beckett, Joel DenOtter, Nolan Regier, Hannah Tait, Nick Bedard and Jacob Ryan. This allows their defenceman, James Boyle, Colin Regier, Jayden Heywood and Dylan Relouw to pinch in and play agressive. This is the third tournament that this team has entered this year. They have also been Bill Batten A Finalists in Exeter and Champions of the Port Dover Memorial Tournament. They will proudly represent South Huron at the International Silverstick in Forest the end of January.
