Atom Girls HL - Atom Girls LL Win Gold!!
The South Huron Minor Hockey Atom LL girls travelled to Orangeville last weekend to participate in the 34th Annual Sweetheart Tournament.
Our first opponent was Durham and we came out with our first win of 1-0 with Emma Regier scoring the goal. The second game, the girls had a tough go against Grand River and came up short with a 2-0 loss. They bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Caledon with Jayda Consitt scoring the lone goal. Regier and Consitt each pulled off a goal in the semi-finals against Bowmanville. The arch rivals came back to haunt us for the final game but we rose above and came out on top winning 1-0. Regier scored the final goal of the tournament that brought us to victory. Our amazing goalie, Jillian Regier stood on her head throughout the entire weekend with 4 shut outs out of the 5 games. All of our girls made us very proud over the course of the weekend. What a great way to head into playoffs!!
Coaches Comments: The girls showed phenomenal team spirit on and off the ice and played with grit and determination and each and every girl truly contributed to all the wins - they were all true team wins!
Special thanks to Edge Automation for sponsoring us for the tournament.
