International Silver Stick Final 4!
The International Silver Stick Tournament in St. Clair Shores Michigan was comprised of 11 of the finest CC/B Novice Rep teams in Ontario and the host St. Clair Shore Saints.
It was shaping up to be a very competitive tournament that would take our very best effort to win.

Our first game had us versing the Oro Thunder, and it was a well played game, but we ended up on the short end in a 1-0 loss. Next up was the Mitchell Meteors (who we had lost to, but had also beaten earlier in the season). Mitchell came to play, and our boys were just not in it from the start, and we got hammered 7-1. Ouch! Not the start to the tournament that we had expected. Our third game of the tournament pitted us against the Stittsville Rams. The boys played a strong game, but lost 4-2. Our high powered offence was sputtering at the wrong time, only 3 goals in 3 games!
As luck would have it, the tournament was set up in such a manner, that we ended up first in our division due to our superior goal differential. Hey, we didn't make up the tournament rules, we just followed them and snuck in the back door to the dance.
Our quarter final match had us playing another "oh-fer" team, the North London Nationals, and our offence came alive and we dominated for a 4-0 win. Off to the semi-finals on Sunday morning against our nemesis the Mt .Brydges Cougars.
After handing the Cougars a 2-0 lead at the end of the first, the boys started to mount their comeback. We scored in the first and last minute of the second period to head in to the third tied at two. Mt. Brydges scored early in the third period, but after that it was all South Huron and we tied the game with 23 seconds left to force overtime. We carried our momentum in to overtime and dominated the Cougars early, but with a little over 2 minutes left the Cougars notched the winner to advance to the finals. Mt. Brydges went on to beat Mitchell by a score of 3-1 to capture the Championship.
