Tyke Red wins Gold!
On December 27th - 29th the South Huron Sabres Tyke "Red" team traveled to Strathroy for the 43rd Annual John Henry Memorial Tournament.

Game 1 against Oakridge (London) was a strong start to the tournament that featured great passing and puck movement.  The Sabres struck early and often cruising to a 15-0 victory.  The team highlight was that every skater recorded at least one point.  The line of Kallen Grant, Cullen Kerslake, Hudson Leenders, Jesse Debruyn and Thomas Glavin combined for 15 points.  Goaltender Logan Morley posted the shutout.

Game 2 vs. Ingersoll proved to be a tougher task.  Timely saves by goaltender Logan Morley proved to be huge, as the Sabres gained traction in a 6-1 win.

Game 3 against Ilderton was led by the strong play of the defense.  Thomas Glavin, Drew Kramer, Jesse Debruyn and Ryan Obre stood their ground with strong positional play on the point, quarter backing the way to a 13-1 win.

Game 4 ("A" Final) vs. Strathroy started as a hard fought battle.  Again Logan Morley had to stand tall against the host team with numerous key saves in the first period until the Sabres were able to get the offense fired up.  Sabres led 1-0 after the first period, and 4-0 after the second period and cruised to a 9-1 victory. All players played great, worked hard and showed off their 2 way game.
The line of Kane Barch, Jack Taylor, Finn Theophilopoulos, Ryan Obre and Drew Kramer combined for 14 points in a 9-1 victory.

Team tournament MVP was Logan Morley for allowing only 3 goals against in the four games!

Congratulations to the Sabres!  All coaches are very proud of your hard work & positional play, keep it up!

The South Huron Tyke "Red" team will next travel to St. Thomas Tyke roster select tournament February 19th – 21st.
