London Knights Novice Tournament
On Nov 5 and 6th the South Huron Sabres Novice LL
Red travelled to London for the first inaugural London Knights Novice
Tournament at Budweiser Gardens.
It was quite a thrill for the players (and parents) to get to experience some of the inner workings of the arena (a tour of the Knights' dressing room was a highlight) and watch the ‘big boys’ practice. We played two preliminary games on Saturday and were victorious in both games with a score 5-0 in each, putting us in the championship game Sunday at noon before the Knights played Hamilton. In a hard fought game with Mount Brydges Gold, the team emerged victorious with a 5-3 final score and were crowned the champions which included an on-ice presentation during the second intermission of the Knights game (again another highlight that will stay with these players for years to come). Congratulations to all players, as everyone played very well and worked hard in all 3 games, coaches and bench staff for a successful weekend.
