London Devilettes Champions
The U11B Sabres are winners of the 31st Annual London Devilettes Tournament!
The Girls played a busy weekend of hockey coming off the January break in the Devilettes Tournament.
The weekend started with a 5-1 win against St. Catherines Friday morning and followed by a hard fought 4-0 win against our Huron County rivals the Huron Heat.
Saturday the Sabres took on St. Thomas for top spot in the division and came away with a 6-0 total team effort win.
The Sabres were at it bright and early Sunday morning in the Semi-Finals against the Georgina Golden Hawks. The Sabres came out flying and never looked back as they put together an impressive effort and a 5-0 win to book their ticket to the Gold Medal Game against Lucan.
The final was a match-up of two good teams and was a high paced competitive effort from start to finish. A great effort by both teams meant that overtime was needed after a 0-0 tie at the end of the 3rd period. The 4 on 4 OT and the 3 on 3 OT saw each team trade chances, however a shootout was needed.
One big goal and 3 huge saves sealed the win for the Sabres as they took home the Gold!
