Scheduling
Game play will start as early as 7am on Friday, March 28th and will end at 7pm on Sunday, March 30th, 2025.
Each team is guaranteed 3 games of round robin play which will be scheduled on Friday and Saturday. Semi-finals and finals will be scheduled on Sunday.
MVP awards will be handed out for each game.
Games will be played at 4 arenas, South Huron Recreation Centre (SHRC), Stephen Township Arena (STA), Zurich Arena (ZUR) and Hensall Arena (HEN)
Tournament/Game Format
*** THIS IS A POINTS TOURNAMENT***
Winner of each pool will be decided based on the team with the most points.
The wild card will team out of any pool WITH THE MOST POINTS (after the 1st place teams from each pool have been moved)
Tie breaker rules (see below) will only be used IF there are two teams tied for points.
Round Robin games will be played as follows
11 points ONLY available per game
2 points for winning a period, 1 point for tying a period
4 points for winning a game, 2 points for tying a game
1 point for a shut out WIN
**No additional point will be awarded to either team for a 0-0 tie
Periods will be 10-10-12 for U9, U11 and U13 and 10-10-15 for U15, U18 and U21
There will be no time outs permitted in round robin play.
One, thirty (30) second timeout shall be permitted for each team during semi and final games. These must be used during regulation time, there will be no timeouts in overtime periods.
There will be no overtime in round robin play.
Overtime for 'finals' games will consist of a 5 minute sudden victory period with 3 skaters plus a goalie for each team. A penalty during an overtime period will result in the opposing team adding a skater. If the score remains tied after the 5 minute period, a shootout will occur with 3 shooters per team. If the score remains tied after 3 shooters, a sudden victory shootout will take place. Each player must shoot once before any player may reshoot.
Shooters will go at the same time.
In the event of a tie in round robin standings, tie breaker rules are as follows
1. Win/Loss record
2. Head to Head
3. Goals for/Goals for plus goals against
4. Least penalty minutes
5. Flip a coin
If 3 or more teams are tied, after one team has been eliminated, tie breaker rules will start at 1.

1st in Pool A vs 1st in Pool B
1st in Pool C vs Wildcard

Wildcard vs 1st in Pool B
1st in Pool A vs 1st in Pool C
PLEASE NOTE - the home team for the semi final games will be determined based on total points from round robin games
Miscellaneous
Games will start NO MORE THAN 10 minutes ahead of schedule if referees/linesmen and volunteers are ready. Teams are not to go on the ice until at least 1 ref is present.
Home Team shall be designated by the tournament schedule
In the event of a jersey conflict, the home team will change their jerseys.
It is the responsibility of the team to ensure all bench staff sign the game sheet prior to the start of the game.
Any penalties or suspensions will be determined by the referees and will follow OMHA guidelines. Additional games/penalties due to outside circumstances will be determined by OMHA after submission of tournament information upon completion.
If a team has a lead of more than 5 goals in the 3rd period, then the clock will run straight time. If the score differential goes below 5 goals, then stop time will resume.
**In the case of inclement weather, if a team is unable to make a scheduled game, or it a team forfeits for any other reason, then a 1-0 win will be recorded for the opposing team. Games will not be cancelled by the tournament director due to inclement weather.**
