Message from the President
Submitted By dkints on Saturday, December 18, 2021
With the recent Ontario Government announcement to once again place restrictions on gatherings, businesses and families, I wanted to reach out to Sabres Nation to help navigate the coming weeks as we may see our players/families being isolated due to potential contact with a positive case, and we will see opposing teams unable to play games due to their own

players isolating.  So I am asking Sabre Nation to be understanding and kind as nobody wants hockey to shut down, and if a game is canceled and your team feels comfortable to use your ice time to keep our kids active, I encourage it! Their physical activity and mental wellbeing is important to us.

There will be upcoming games that get canceled and we know some games will continue to be played, the schedule is really centre by centre and game by game at this point. Postponed games are possible based on the other centers isolation situation and our own Sabres comfort level in playing their scheduled game.  I encourage parents and players to do what they feel is best for their families and provide coaches with as much notice as possible if missing any scheduled ice times so that opposing teams and referees can be notified ASAP of cancelations.

At this time there is no pending shutdown of hockey but our teams and opposing teams may not feel comfortable competing together, be understanding as we all try and do what is best for the players of Sabre Nation. As an organization we will follow the direction of Provincial and local Public Health guidance in keeping Sabres safe.

If any coach, player or family is feeling uneasy with hockey and has questions please contact me directly [email protected] and we can work through any concerns and what it means for your Sabre and your team.
