Age (As of Dec. 31/17)

Registration Fee

(before April 1st)

In the Tyke program all children MUST be able to skate on their own - no parents/no props (red support bars).  We will only accept 4 year olds who HAVE taken 1 year of Can Skate as long as he/she ALSO enrolls in one day a week of Can Skate and maintains excellent attendance there. The player will pay the one day a week fee to Can Skate and $235.00 to SHMHA. If attendance at Can Skate is not consistent SHMHA will remove the player from the Tyke program until their attendance in Can Skate is maintained. If your child is 5 or 6 years old and this is their first year in hockey, please contact the registrar if you are wanting them in the Tyke/Can Skate program.

Any players new to South Huron Minor Hockey can register and pay for their child at any time at the early bird fee.  However, registering close to the start of the hockey season does not guarantee a position on a team - teams will only be available if registration warrants and ice time permits.

NEW PLAYERSat least one parent or guardian of each player registered in the OMHA/OWHA will be required to complete the online “Respect in Sport – Parent Education Program” as a condition of their child’s participation with SHMHA. Information can be found under the Registration tab on the SHMHA website at  Look for the “Respect In Sport – Parent Program” tab and a link to follow to register/sign in.

Once the program is completed, parents/guardians are considered certified and there is no requirements for recertification.

Returning players must register before April 1st to receive the early bird fee.  All registrations after this date will be charged the full registration fee of $700.00.

*Tyke players do not pay tryout fees

Non-Participatory Fee:

Each player registered with South Huron Minor Hockey must submit a $500 non-participatory cheque dated February 15, 2018. These cheques will be collected from Team Managers in September and will only be cashed if you do not work your volunteers hours per child.
