Girls Registration (South Huron Minor Hockey)

Print Girls Registration

  1. For the upcoming 2017-18 season South Huron Minor Hockey will be conducting Spring Player Evaluations for all Girls Hockey Rep/Teir 1 teams.

We encourage any player that is interested in playing Girls Hockey for South Huron to attend the spring evaluations. Players who wish to come from another centre MUST bring a signed Permission to Skate form and pay the non-refundable evaluation fee.

SHMHA expects to have multiple teams in each age division. Currently it is anticipated to have the following rep team categorizations:  Novice B, Atom A/BB/B, PeeWee A/BB/B, Bantam A/BB, Midget BB/B.

The category for each team will be determined after the evaluation process has been completed.  Teir 2 teams will be C/HL, to be determined in the fall.

Evaluations will take place between April 17th and April 23rd, 2017.

After reading the Registration package in full please fill out the form COMPLETELY and submit prior to  March 31, 2017 to save the early registration discount of $200.00 per player.

Registration cheques must be dated AUGUST 1, 2017.
Any payment made after this date must be cash, certified cheque or money order.

Existing SHMHA players who pay after March 31, 2017 will pay full registration. NEW PLAYERS – at least one parent or guardian of each player registered in the OMHA/OWHA will be required to complete the online “Respect in Sport – Parent Education Program” as a condition of their child’s participation with SHMH.

Information can be found on the SHMHA website at www.southhuronminorhockey.ca. Look for the “Respect In Sport – Parent Program” tab and a link to follow to register/sign in.
Once the program is completed, parents/guardians are considered certified and there is no requirements for recertification.

NSF: See attached NSF Policy PLAYERS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ON THE ICE UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED IN FULL INCLUDING DELINQUENT PAYMENTS FROM LAST YEAR. To ensure all cheques are submitted, tick the box beside the appropriate item, when you have enclosed that cheque.

It is the Parent/Guardian’s responsibility to submit all payments to SHMHA in ONE cheque. Until all monies are paid the player will not be allowed on the ice.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY, CHECK ALL BOXES AND SEND ALL APPROPRIATE CHEQUES

GOALIES SHMHA supplies equipment for goalies playing peewee level and younger.

For girl’s hockey only: The $110 gate fee covers all girls’ games. This amount has been included in your registration fee.

To prevent large team numbers on teams the late registrations will be monitored. Please register your child by March 31, 2017, even if you’re not sure they will play, cheques will not be cashed until August 1, 2017. As a result of a late registration, SHMHA will not guarantee the player a spot on a team roster.

WHAT ARE PLAYER EVALUATIONS? WHY WOULD MY CHILD WANT TO ATTEND EVALUATIONS? If your child decides to attend Evaluations, they would be trying out for a position on one of SHMHA’s Representative/Competitive hockey teams. You must pay the Player Evaluation fee in order to attend Evaluations. As an Association we have certain expectations for our Rep/Competitive Players. We expect each of them to be highly motivated team players, willing to take direction from their coaching staff and to dedicate as much time, effort and self control, both on and off the ice, as is required to win each hockey game.
Each coach has different coaching techniques and in a game situation they may chose to use power play lines and shorten the bench. A coach may choose to do this in tight games, play downs, play offs or in a tournament. If your child would not want to be a member of one of these teams, there is no obligation to try out. Players selected for the Rep team will be required to pay a non-refundable deposit (portion of their registration) in order to secure a spot on the roster.

Please refer to our policy posted on the website Policy and Procedures tab, Policy #4 “Playing Time” for more information.

NOTE: If chosen to be on a team, the player is committed to that team – there will be no backing out. Representative hockey is a lot of fun for the right child and the right parent.

The SHMHA charges a handling fee of $25 per N.S.F. cheque. This is considered compensation for expenses. REFUSAL OF PLAY/PRACTICE/ICE TIME: To have access of play/practice/ice time reinstated, the issuer must pay the original legislated fee plus the $25 administrative fee. For example if the administrative fee is owed due to a N.S.F. cheque for registration costs, non-participatory fees, or other related fees but the original fee has been paid , the Association can refuse to grant access to play/practice/ice time, until the issuer pays the Association the $25 N.S.F. expenses. Examples of Effect of N.S.F. Cheques: To avoid a N.S.F. cheque situation with registration and Association related fees, the SHMHA has the discretion to request that all fees be paid for by cash, certified cheque, money order or bank draft. Should the NSF cheque not be honoured or other arrangement accepted by the Association the usual refund policy will apply less any and all applicable NSF fees. SHMHA Volunteer Structure

**2017-2018 Season** Participatory Commitment Participatory hours are for the benefit of the players within South Huron Minor Hockey. SHMHA hosts 4 very successful tournaments each season and the participation of all families is a major contributor to that success. One shift will need to be completed for EVERY child registered within SHMHA. Each player registered must submit a $500 Non Participatory cheque dated February 15, 2018. These cheques will be collected from team managers in September and will only be cashed if you do not complete your required hours per child.
