About the registration system:

  • If your player is registered for the current season, you will need to sign back in to your PowerUp account.

  • If you are new to hockey or our association, you will be able to create an account and player profiles. Please visit the First Year of Hockey or Played Before Elsewhere if applicable. New registrants to SHMHA must include a copy of their birth certificate with their registration. Please email a scanned copy to [email protected]

NEW Process for tryouts for 2025-2026 Season

Boys interested in attending spring tryouts will need to also register for the tryout package through your Spordle Account.
HCR Tryout Package (Spordle)

If your player is not linked to their parent's Spordle/HCR Account follow these instructions (Spordle Instructions). After completing these steps if your player does not show up under your Spordle account please email [email protected] 

Girls attending tryouts will continue to register for the tryout package via RAMP (http://SouthHuronGH.rampregistrations.com)


Registration Information

Registration in PowerUp Sports will be required prior to evaluations.

*NEW* Boys Spring 2025 Frequently Asked Q & A 

Deadlines for payment and withdrawal are different for each division. All returning SHMHA players must register prior to April 11. NEW to SHMHA players will be accepted as division space allows. See the Anticipated Season Start dates below as well as the refund policy to ensure you understand payment and withdrawal/refund policies.

Intent for Outside Tryout (IOT)

If your player is attending evaluations at another centre, please select the IOT option within PowerUp when registering. Please review the Refund Policy for more information.

Additionally, to help in planning for team sizes and evaluations, SHMHA is asking players planning to attend outside evaluations to complete the 2025-2026 Intent for Outside Tryout form.

Returning South Huron players who are attending outside tryouts will register under the IOT registration on PowerUp and will not have any funds due.

Should they accept a spot on a South Huron team, they will need to register on HCR/Spordle and pay at least 50% of the registration fee at the time of signing.

*Additional Fees for 2025-26 (Tier 1 Boys and Girls) - There may be an increase in practice ice time for teams competing at the Tier 1 level. Please note that there will be an additional registration charge for those players named to the involved teams. The charge will be based on actual increased cost.

** Registration Fee for U21 - During the time of registration, the registration fee will display as $0. Registration payment will be requested from SHMHA once confirmation of minimum number of registrants for this division.

April 11, 2025 Fees can be paid online upon registration in full, or 50% at time of registration and 50% by August 1, 2025.*

Returning Players

  • U5/U7
April 11, 2025 Fees can be paid online upon registration or deferred to August 1, 2025.*
*Payments for returning SHMHA players received after the deadline noted above will be subject to a $150 late fee.
For players new to SHMHA no late fee will apply. Players are encouraged to register early to secure their spot as teams may fill. 


Refund Policy

Please review our Refund Policy prior to registration. 

Refund amounts are determined by the division and number of days beyond the season start date. Season start is determined as the first day of evaluations for the level/division, regardless of whether the player attended evaluations.

Volunteer Requirements (Bond Cheque)

There is a participatory/volunteer requirement for every registered player U7 and above. A bond cheque in the amount of $500 is collected at the beginning of the season.

Volunteer Opt-Out

Families will have the option of paying a fee of $200 (selection must be made at time of registration in PowerUp) in order to ‘Opt’ out of completing volunteer time. This fee is per player and funds will be used to cover duties as needed. Simply select the opt out item when registering in PowerUp.


Evaluations

We are asking that you indicate on the registration form your intention to attend evaluations by YES, Starting with Tier 1, Yes, starting with Tier 2, or NO in the specified field. If a player changes his/her mind at the time of evaluation they will still be permitted to attend the evaluation this is just a guideline to help determine how much ice time is needed for each division.

A cost of $50 (cash only) is collected at the time of the first evaluation. All returning players must be registered to attend.

Anticipated Season Start 

Season start is determined as the first day of evaluations for the level/division, regardless of whether the player attended evaluations. 

2025 Season Start Dates:

  • U9 (Boys and Girls): April 12, 2025
  • U11 - U18 (Girls): April 21, 2025
  • U11 - U16 (Boys): May 2, 2025
  • U18 (Boys): estimated to be September 9, 2025

U5 and U7 will begin in October, all other divisions (boys and girls) will start mid to late September. Regular ice time will begin in October.
