To Sign up for Coaching Qualifications, Trainers Certificate, or Gender Identity, follow these instructions:

 1)      Identify the appropriate qualification you require for your position and age level.  A breakdown of the requirements by level  can be found at:

2)      To register for your training, set up an eHockey Account (or log in to your existing account) at:  https://ehockey.hockeycanada.ca/ehockey/Account/Login.aspx?id=8

 3)      For more detailed instructions on signing in to eHockey, read this: https://cdn1.sportngin.com/attachments/document/0106/9008/SETTING_UP_EHOCKEY_ACCOUNT.pdf

 4)      Once in you have a profile created in eHockey Account, select: “Signup for a Clinic” from the top right menu.  You will be able to search for the qualification you need to obtain, and a list of in-person and/or online course offerings will appear below.

 5)      Select the course you wish to take, and choose “sign up”.

 6)      Have fun!

Please note that all costs for training courses will be reimbursed by the association provided you are listed on a current bench staff. Payment is required upon sign up and receipts can be submitted upon completion of certification. Receipts must be submitted on or before Jan 1st of the current season.


ADDITIONAL NOTES ABOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  •  All Team Officials (Coach, Trainer, & Manager) require Respect in Sport (RiS) - Activity Leader or Speak Out!
  •  All Team Officials (Coach, Trainer, & Manager) require Gender Identity & Expression Course
  • All Team Officials require HU-Planning a Safe Return to Hockey Course
  • All team officials require a current VSS check

For 2020-2021:

  • Requirement for U9 and below - Coach 1 – Intro to Coach  
  • Requirement for U11 and up - Coach 2 minimum 
Additional Notes
    1) If a coach currently holds a Coach 2-Coach Level “Trained” qualification that is expiring, their options are:
    a. Complete the Trained to Certified process to be eligible for the 2020-2021 season, this process includes:
    • Coach 2-Coach Level Workbook
    • Making Ethical Decisions – Online Evaluation module
    • Submit Coach 2-Coach Level Workbook to their Local MHA for approval
    b. The expiring Coach 2 ‘Trained’ Coach who elects not to complete this process will be required to complete the requirements outlined for Coach 2 ‘New Coaches’ above in order to be eligible for the coming season

    2) If a coach currently holds a Development 1 “Trained” qualification that is expiring, their options are:
    a. Complete the following to be considered “in process” for the 2020-2021 season:
    • Development 1 – Post Task Workbook
    • Making Ethical Decisions – Online Evaluation module
    • Submit Development 1 Request for Evaluation form to their Local MHA
    b. The expiring D1 ‘Trained’ Coach who elects not to complete this process will be required to complete the requirements outlined for Coach 2 ‘New Coaches’ above in order to be eligible for the coming season.
