Welcome to the U9 Tier 1 Girls hockey program for the 2025/2026 Hockey season. My name is Shayne Mudge and I am honored to be the Head Coach of this South Huron Sabres team for this upcoming year.
As a lifelong Sabre I have been with the organization since it began as a young player as well as a coach on both the boys and girls side of different age groups and calibers. I have been apart of teams with a lot of success and a teams that were not so strong. Both outcomes helped me understand and grow my knowledge of the game, to be able to pass along to the future up and coming hockey players.
I encourage all U9 eligible girl hockey players from anywhere to come and tryout for our team as you never know what can happen. My goal for this year is to have the hardest working team on the ice every game we play. I want to see everyone grow their skills by learning the game and striving to be the best player and teammate that you can be.
The expectations leading into this season would be to play in 3 tournaments, have hard working practices and have some off ice team building exercises and practices as well. Most importantly U9 hockey is about having fun by learning to play competitively, making lifelong friends and creating new experiences. With that mixture I hope to have an extremely successful season and can’t wait to get started.
