Updated Information
On Dec. 28th we had our Winter Classic. We invited over 40 players from years past to join us for the game of the century. The black team came out of the gates with a flash from the past. Anchored by the likes of Collin Fevery, Tanner Shapton and Trevor Bryson these three glided with poetic motion on the ice.Heath Coulter picked up where he left off being the teams enforcer while Brady Watson spent much of the night in the penalty box. Zach Wadell and Cody Jones continue to have soft hands and put on a clinic for us all. Max Carter hasn't lost a step and schooled many on the ice.
The white team started  slowly came on in the second half of the game. Anchored by Sean Taylor fresh off a trip from Florida he dazzled the crowd with end to end rushes. The two McVeeny boys
looked sharp. Jimmy was a force to reckon with while Brandon moved like a cat. The Lenting boys had their game faces on from the drop of the puck, David with his grinding play while Wes showed off his speed and scoring touch. Kevin Mann and Scotty Taylor where absolutely amazing. Andrew Hodgert and Evan Winbow provided much needed scoring and didn't look like they lost a step. Kyle Brand and Michael Clarke where late minute additions but both added a gritty, tough presence. Mike almost sold an Audi car to a fellow team mate.Devon Jones hadn't been on skates for two years and was heard asking for  oxygen  Our two goalies Kurtis Bryson and Owen Kuranyi where extremely strong between the pipes.
Brilliant coaching from Bill Brintnell and Doug Watson seemed to be the turning point for most.
9 players from this years team remarked at the skill and endurance of past players. The score 9-8 for the dark team. Our referee was obviously Ontario's finest.
Thanks for a great night of memories from all who attended (32 players). It sure was a privellege having you on our team.
Coach Doug
