SHMHA is hosting a
Welcome Back BBQ on Sunday, September 11th from 3-6pm at the Exeter
Legion. The event will include a free hot dog BBQ, information sessions for
U7-U11 pathways, equipment swap and an opportunity to view Sabres gear and
sizing from local suppliers. Through a partnership with OMHA and Egg Farmers of
Ontario, sets of equipment for U7/U9 players will be onsite to try on and
members of executive will be on hand to provide information about our Player

SHMHA Executive
We are excited to welcome lots of new faces to the executive for the 2022-2023 season. Please take a look at the link below for a full list. New for the upcoming season are pathways directors for U7 through U11 on both the girls and boys side. These directors will help us all navigate the recommendations and mandates from Hockey Canada as well as the respective team leagues. The Welcome Back BBQ will be a great place to meet them!

Season Information & Start Dates

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Pathway Skate(s) have been scheduled for all boys divisions U8 and above. These skates are intended for ALL registered players in the division and have no additional cost.
Communication Updates and communication from the association will be done through the website. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to follow the SHMHA schedule and to watch for changes and additions as well as important information that will affect your player. See below for instructions on how to receive notices on updates/posts.
SHMHA executive members will be on hand at the arena during the first evaluation session scheduled for your division to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to attend with questions even if your player is not participating in evaluations.
Volunteer/Bond Cheques will be collected by your player’s team manager and submitted together on or before October 15th. The bond remains at $500 (per player) for this season and the cheque(s) should be dated for December 1st, 2022. One shift must be completed for each registered player. Cheques will not be cashed unless this requirement is not met. ***Rosters will not be submitted for approval by OMHA until this requirement is met.

Volunteer Registration will be completed online again this year and sign up will be available in mid to late October. Information will be posted under the Volunteer section on the website as it becomes available. South Huron will again be hosting 4 tournaments during which you will have the opportunity to complete your required volunteer shift. Tournament dates are available online at the link below.

Association/Team Photos will be held Oct 30th. Specific time slots will be assigned and posted to the website as they are available. Forms and information will be distributed through your coaches/managers.
Evaluations

Schedules for each division are on their respective calendars as well as on the evaluation schedule. Please watch closely for changes to times and locations. Updates (for example game rosters) will be posted to the main page for each team.

Registration and payment of the $50 evaluation fee (cash only) will be at the first scheduled evaluation skate for your division.
Evaluations are being held in various locations as per the schedule.
Players not selected for the Tier 1 (‘C’ or previously rep) team will be directed as to which schedule to follow on the website.
***Evaluation for GOALIES – Please attend both the scheduled skate(s) for your division and the Goalie session.
U11 through U18 - For those players not wishing to attend evaluations for representative teams, your first skate with the LMLL team is anticipated to be the first week of October. Please refer to the online calendars for updates.

Regular ice time for all teams will start on October 1st and could vary between the South Huron Recreation Centre and Stephen Township Arena.
