Peewee LL, 2015-2016 (South Huron Minor Hockey)

The beat writer was very delinquent in reporting on the first round versus Thamesford! Apologies ... the lads disposed of the Thamesford's in 4 games - after a slow start in game 1 the Sabres turned it around and took the next three to win it in 4 ... now, it's the Dorchester's - game one today and the locals came out on fire ... a 9-3 thrashing of the Dragons! Led by the captain, 97 Harley Edwards with 5 goals and an assist ! The boys had a great team effort ... Boston Droulliard with 4 assists (some beauties!) and Kellen Park with 2 goals and 2 assists ... Matt McCann with a goal, Chase ...

Help needed!

The lads were in Seaforth on the weekend for a great tournament put on by Craig Metzger and his group of volunteers! Well done! Game 1 Friday morning against BCH ended up in a 6-2 loss for the locals - sorry, I don't have a game sheet so and I can't recall who scored - the game sheet, I believe was destroyed by Coach McCann ... things got better Friday afternoon as the Sabres took on West Lorne and won 1 to 0 in a game where they had so many shots on net i lost count at 40 ... lone goal to number 97, Harley Edwards. 

That's how the game sheet looked today! Boston Droulliard from Matt McCann twice! That is all the locals needed to beat Mount Brydges today ... that and the stellar goaltending of Alex Morley and Colton Strang! Another rough game against Mount Brydges Blue ... not much different than the game after Christmas down in their barn. Great job by Coach McCann today keeping the lads focused on hockey and fighting their way through the cheap shots, missed calls and goonery of the oppostion! Again, the whole team played great today and they ought to be very proud of themselves! Now it's on to the ...

Pee Wee LL had a lot of hockey last weekend. Two great games versus Lambton Shores on Saturday (a 2-1 come from behind win) and a 5-3 win Sunday in Strathroy. Monday night was a tilt with Lucan in which the local lads came out on the wrong end of a 4-2 score. So, just one regular season game left this Saturday versus Mount Brydges. The boys are 9-8-2 in league play so we'll see how we get seeded for playoffs! Next weekend the team has a big tournament in Seaforth (Doug Perkes Memorial) which will be a great tune up for playoffs! Go Sabres !
