Well folks we've all been waiting 3 or 4 years and it has finally happened. REAL HOCKEY!!
This past saturday two worlds collided in huron park ontario of all places...
Our foes from lambeth braved the snowy drive to visit us on what seemed like a much anticipated battle of the ages. It was the first actually hockey game to be played by either team and everyone was pumped including the coaches.
I talked to the lambeth coach before the game and much like our season they really havent been tested all that often. We both knew this was going to be fun to watch.
With penalties, off-sides, line changes and actually keeping score the boys did not let us down. From the drop of the puck it was entertaining till the final buzzer.
The play was fast paced and end to end. We managed to tie up the game 2-2 on the power play in the second frame but in the third lambeth took over and scored a couple beauties. the boys played hard for the full 32 minutes though and we were all very entertained. This was the first game all year where the crowd was vocal enough to hear on the bench. Lets just say the atmosphere was electric and i cant wait till this weekend to do it all over again.
One young man in particular had a well balanced game. He had numerous half breakaways, effective back checks, battles in the corners and his passed were on target. Evan "Dangles" Regier has been dominant in most games this season and with full ice now i dont see that changing anytime soon. Evan picked up the player of the game for his efforts.
practice tues, practice thursday and Alymer comes to town this sat at 3 for what i hope is another great game.
