Aylmer
Submitted By SCoward on Monday, January 27, 2020
Saturday was our second attempt at full ice the boys did not disappoint. With Aylmer in town we knew we could be in deep ketchup!

However, the boys would not be denied victory.  We started slow again which is something we tend to do and something we are going to have to remedy.

The ketchup kids were up 2-1 after one but we had a little chat after the first period and straightened out a few things on the bench.

Evan "dangles" regier opended the scoring  with a nice unassisted effort for the lone goal in the first period. Oh henry groot kept us in the game as he was tested numerous times in the opening frame.

In the second stanza we stressed short shift and keeping the feet moving. we were awarded a couple power plays and were able to capitalize on them. Sam "silent sniper" mason scored a beauty from his office (front of the net) with assists going to Dangles and the Ninja warrior Ashton glavin. It was a great play that emphasized what we have been working on all year.

From that goal on there was no looking back as we managed to score a few more goals in the third and never look back. Goals scored in the third by Dangles (2), 1/2 tonne tilley, and Flipper Boyle.

One particular individual had a great afternoon on the defensive side of the puck.  This big towering Dman is rock steady on the blue line and seems to always be in the right position to make plays. Hes not afraid to pinch at the offensive blue line to keep the puck in and always manages to get back into position if needed. Riley "Kosmo" Kramer picked up the player of the game. Great game by a great kid...congrats, well deserved!

practice tuesday, thursday and then a big test against the stonetowners saturday in huron park at 3.  i believe a practice sunday at 4...i'll look into that to be sure.
